Sustainability
Soapbiz aims to be sustainable in environmental, social and economic concerns. As part of our commitment to our community we are continuously working towards greater long-term sustainability.
Environmental Sustainability
Our key areas of environmental sustainability are:
- Animal Protection: Soapbiz products contain no animal products and are not tested on animals.
- Sustainable Palm Oil: The base ingredient for our soaps is Palm Oil, which is the base ingredient for most soaps available on the market. We have taken great care to source Palm Oil from sustainable plantations as we recognise the strong impact the farming of palm oil has had on our environment. Our supplier was one of the founding members of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and will be one of the first organisations to have all of its plantations certified as sustainable under the RSPO's new certification process.
- Carbon Emissions: Our overarching organisation, Multitask Human Resource Foundation Ltd recently joined the Sustainability Advantage program. This is an 18 month program working with the Department of Environment and Conservation NSW (DEC) to improve our environmental performance. We aim to become a more sustainable business by following environmental actions plans, a more efficient use of resources and reduced waste. For further information on this program please visit:

Social Responsibility
Our key actions in this area include:
- Our Community: Our focus is on people and the community. Before we proceed with any new action or development we consider how our actions will affect individuals and the broader (or wider) community. Employment Conditions: Our employees are of particular importance to us and as such we strictly adhere to the 12 Disability Standards developed by FaHCSIA from the Disability Services Act 1986 (Cth). These can be viewed on the Multitask website.
- Choice of Suppliers: We ensure our Palm Oil supplier is taking actions to improve to the general wage and living conditions for the people working on their plantations. They have implemented a Social Responsibility Plan at each site which is monitored closely by middle and senior management.
Economic Sustainability
Soapbiz wants to ensure it will be providing the highest quality employment, training and support services to people with disabilities well into the future. We regularly review and update our financial plan and related policies to ensure we are operating in a manner that makes us competitive in the market place while providing a solid financial base for future operations.
